Description
This is a soba choko (small cup for soba dipping sauce) from Yakimono Yamajo, a pottery studio in Ina City, Nagano Prefecture, that follows the tradition of Mingei (folk craft).
Unfortunately, I broke one of them very early on, and since my partner and I usually eat alone, I haven't had many opportunities to use the remaining ones. This one has only been used once and has been stored away in the cupboard ever since.
It could also be used as a small dish for side dishes, or perhaps for enjoying unpretentious Japanese sake.
