◆ This is a soba choko (soba dipping sauce cup) from Daishuku Pottery (Daishukugama), where careful handcrafting has been practiced in the land of Mashiko.
Mashiko ware has been popular as everyday tableware since the kiln was established at the end of the Edo period.
This vessel is characterized by the rustic texture of the white slip glaze and the striking painting of cat willow drawn with bold iron brushstrokes.
It is a versatile vessel that can be used not only as a dipping sauce cup for soba noodles but also as a small bowl, dessert cup, teacup, or side dish. It is a do-it-all vessel that fits perfectly into a Japanese dining table and adds a gentle touch of color to daily life.

◆ As this vessel is finished by hand, each piece has individual differences and unique expressions. The size may also vary slightly depending on the product.
Please understand that due to the nature of the product, there may be variations in color, pattern, crazing (fine cracks), visible clay areas, small holes, uneven coloring, scorch marks, and uneven firing.

◆ Precautions for use in microwave and dishwasher
◇ Microwave
* Because earthenware has high water absorption, it is prone to cracking if heated in the microwave when it has absorbed a lot of moisture, as the rapid heating can cause the moisture to expand.
* It is prone to cracking if heated immediately after being chilled in the refrigerator.

◇ Dishwasher
* Place the dishes in the dishwasher so that they do not collide with each other too much. (Earthenware is more fragile than porcelain.)
* Because earthenware has high water absorption, please dry it thoroughly after washing.
