Tamamushi Lacquerware
Address Book with Beautiful Floral Design
Height: 18cm
Width: 13cm
Tamamushi Lacquerware is a Sendai-born lacquer art characterized by its vibrant, reflective colors and luster.
It was named after the iridescent wings of the jewel beetle due to its rich, beautiful hues that subtly change color depending on the light.
This unique technique, which involves scattering silver powder and then applying transparent lacquer mixed with dye, creates vivid colors and brilliance unlike any traditional lacquerware.
