This is a set of 5 lidded chawanmushi (savory egg custard) bowls.
The beautiful design of children (karako) and pine, bamboo, and plum motifs, painted in vibrant blue on white porcelain, adds elegance to your dining table. The karako symbolize prosperity of descendants, and pine, bamboo, and plum symbolize longevity, making them very auspicious designs.
The size is convenient for use, so you can use them not only for chawanmushi but also for small soups, or without the lid as small bowls (for cold tofu or dressed dishes).
