Size:
Bowl: Approx. 6 cm (height) x 7 cm (diameter)
Lid: Approx. 5.5 cm (height) x 8.5 cm (diameter)
When the lid is on, the total height is approximately 10.5 cm.
When filled with about 200ml of liquid, the bowl is almost full to the brim.
These items are estimated to be about 30 years old.
These are charming ceramic bowls with lovely colors and shapes.
They were used as chawanmushi bowls.
It seems there are slight variations in the manufacturing size (of the bowls or lids), causing the lids to be a bit loose and rattle. When steaming, the lid was placed on after the bowl was in the steamer, and when carrying, the lid was removed and placed on the table before the lid was put back on.
While used for chawanmushi and simmered dishes, they would also be suitable for desserts like pudding or jelly. I once used them for ice cream with fruit toppings.
Some items may have whitish color variations on the upper part of the bowl.
As these are used items, there are minor scratches and dullness in places, as well as color changes due to age (on the bottom of the bowl and the underside of the lid). Please check the images for details.
These are old items, so we appreciate your understanding if you are looking for vintage products.
The items will be shipped wrapped in recycled paper such as newspaper.
*Please note that we cannot ship on Saturdays, Sundays, or public holidays.
