Description
This is a sushi oke (rice tub) by Kanekin Ogura.
It is made by artisans carving it out of natural wood, making it very durable. Despite being made of wood, it has a substantial weight (around 2kg). It's the perfect size for 4-5 go (approx. 720-900ml) of cooked rice.
Not suitable for microwave or dishwasher.
You can also use it for kama-age udon or somen noodles, but do not leave it soaking in water for extended periods.
It is, simply put, a beautiful masterpiece. The product description states it was used in a Mizkan vinegar commercial.
I purchased it on Mercari a few months ago for 25,000 yen, but
I don't feel confident I can use it to its full potential, so I'm listing it for someone who will.
When the lid is on, the diameter is 35 cm and the height is 9 cm.
