Crafted from Japanese Chestnut (Kuri), one of Hida's five famous trees. This Japanese Chestnut is from Hida, Gifu. While Japanese Chestnut can be enjoyed as an autumn delicacy, in Hida it is also used as lumber for furniture making.

The wood block measures approximately 30mm x 50mm x 90mm.
