The following is an excerpt from the Makuake website:
--------------------------------------------------
?This is a special Umakachan bowl commemorating the 45th anniversary of the release of Kyushu's soul food, Umakachan.

?It is made using Arita ware, a traditional Kyushu pottery said to be the first porcelain fired in Japan.

[Design Highlights]
?A vibrant piece where the yellow, Umakachan's image color, immediately catches the eye.
?It depicts the kaki-nawa (carrying rope) and tebo (bamboo basket) used in the Hakata Gion Yamakasa, a ceremonial event designated as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Japan, and expresses the joyful play of children's Yamakasa, which are also used in Umakachan's character. It embodies the desire to cherish old traditions while also hoping that people will enjoy Umakachan with smiles at their dining tables.
