A pair of artistic and gorgeously ornate wooden Wajima bowls featuring butterflies and flowers with antique gold accents and mother-of-pearl inlay.

A pair of antique bowls, soup bowls, from the Taisho to early Showa period, approximately 100 years old.
The butterflies feature mother-of-pearl inlay, making them rare.
The form from the side is also perfect.

These are of a quality used in high-end Japanese restaurants.
Currently, wooden, genuine lacquer-coated bowls with gold leaf accents of this caliber sell for around 30,000 yen at department stores like Mitsukoshi.

These are highly valuable due to the abundant gold leaf detailing on the flowers.

The gold leaf peonies and butterflies are depicted with delicate, three-dimensional brushstrokes, combining artistry and luxury.

These clear soup bowls are expertly carved from natural wood by artisans and coated multiple times with Japanese natural lacquer.

Currently, over 90% of the lacquer used in Japan is imported from China, making Japanese natural lacquer coating a precious commodity.

The finish is a beautiful lacquer black, achieved by repeatedly applying lacquer over a natural wood base.

Enjoy your clear soups, zoni, and miso soup with elegance.

They will add a splendid and luxurious touch to your meals while evoking a sense of history, and create an artistic and high-class atmosphere.
