Shigaraki Ware Flower Vase Water Basin Ikebana Ornament Shigaraki Ware

I believe I purchased this at Takashimaya for around 30,000 yen back in the day, but I don't remember the exact price.
It was used once at an ikebana exhibition and twice for short practice sessions.

This is a simple Shigaraki ware water basin decorated with white paint on an earthy-colored base. The rough texture sparkles in the light, adding a touch of elegance. The white paint around the rim further enhances the beauty when arranged with flowers. The slightly brownish color in the center is from the firing process and was present from the beginning.
A plastic sheet was placed between the ken-zan (flower frog) and the basin during use, so it was not placed directly on the surface, and I believe there are no scratches from the ken-zan.

This item was not originally sold as a flower vase, so it can also be used as a decorative piece, for bonsai, or for biotope arrangements, offering diverse usage possibilities.

It will be shipped in its original cardboard box, wrapped in cushioning material. As careful shipping is required, please allow some time for delivery.

There are no receipts or product descriptions. I am not knowledgeable about ceramics, so please purchase with the understanding of no claims and no returns.

This is a large water basin suitable for exhibition, and it's rare to find such a lovely flower vase, so I highly recommend it.
As it has been stored for a long time, I would be happy if someone who likes it could make use of it.

Thank you very much for viewing! ?
