Heat-resistant pottery, medicinal herb teapot, black, 2 liters, made in Japan, Tokoname ware
19.79 $
Description
Ceramic clay pots are ideal for decocting medicinal herbs.
Many medicinal herbs contain tannins, so avoid iron containers, which easily form water-soluble salts.
Also, the iron in some herbs can alter their properties through oxidation.
It is best to avoid stainless steel as well, as it contains a lot of iron.
The far-infrared rays emitted from the ceramic pot quickly extract the components of medicinal herbs and tea leaves, reducing decocting time. Can be used over direct heat.
*Cannot be used with IH cooktops.
