【Banko Ware】 Heat-Resistant Clay Pot, Super Heat-Resistant, Traditional Craft, Ginpou, Ceramic Teapot, Medicinal Herbs, Chinese Medicine, Decoction Pot

This is a medicinal herb and decoction clay pot made of Banko ware, a traditional craft of Mie Prefecture.
Banko ware's heat-resistant pottery is extremely tough, known for its resistance to cracking even when placed directly over a flame, and for producing mellow-tasting water.

? [Super Heat Resistant]
Banko ware achieves incredible heat resistance by incorporating a special heat-resistant mineral called petalite into the clay, making it virtually impossible to crack even when placed directly over a flame.
You can boil water by placing it directly on a gas stove, just like you would with a regular kettle.

? [Mellow Mouthfeel]
Due to the far-infrared effect of the pottery and the properties of the clay, which contains minerals like iron, even tap water boiled in this pot will have its sharpness removed, resulting in very mellow and delicious hot water or tea.

? [Ideal for Medicinal Herbs and Kampo]
With metal kettles made of aluminum or stainless steel, the components of Kampo medicines and herbs (such as tannins) can react with the metal and alter their properties.
However, this clay pot is made entirely of natural clay and glaze, allowing you to decoct ingredients without damaging their components, achieving 100% of their efficacy.

Thank you for viewing.
This is an antique item from my parents' home.
There are minor chips on the lid and spout.
The winding cord on one side of the handle is missing.
There are tea stains inside from medicinal herbs.
(Please check photos 2, 3, 4, and 7)
It has been lightly cleaned.
I wanted to use it, but my home uses IH, so I am selling it.
I would be grateful if someone could cherish it.

?? Just in case, here are some basic precautions for using the clay pot over an open flame.
- Do not place on the flame while the bottom is wet.
- Always start with low heat.
- Do not immerse in water while hot (avoid sudden cooling).
