I purchased this about 5 years ago, but my child was afraid to sleep alone, so it has been used very little.
There may be minor scratches and dirt, but there are no cracks, chips, or scratches that would affect its use.
The string in the third photo is used to connect the bed rails to the ladder.
I removed it partway through to better utilize the space under the bed, as the ladder was in the way, allowing the ladder and the top fasteners of the bed rails to be detached so the ladder could be moved freely. However, it can be reattached by removing the caps under the bed rail legs.
