High-Grade Japanese Kitchen Knife - Sakai Ichimonji Tadakuni - Hon-yaki

This is a top-quality octopus knife made by Sakai Ichimonji Tadanori.
It is a Mizumoto-yaki, made using the Tansui-yaki method.
Comes with a black ebony handle with silver wrapping and a paulownia wood box.

This is a work by the late Tatsuo Ikeda (a Living National Treasure and swordsmith).
About 10 years ago, when I bought knives directly from the president of a knife shop, this knife was displayed in his room. When I expressed my desire for it, he said, This was made by a swordsmith, and it's the last knife he made that we have in stock, so I can't sell it on its own. He then agreed to let me have it on the condition that I also purchase other knives.

I have never used it since purchasing it, but I am listing it as near unused just in case.
