Description
100th Anniversary Model ZUIUN from a Cutlery Manufacturer Inheriting the Tradition of Swordsmiths - Inspired by Japanese Swords, a Special Kiritsuke Knife Focused on Sharpness

ZUIUN is the culmination of the founder, First President Matsujiro Kawamura, who is a descendant of the swordsmith Kaneji, and the company's daily pursuit of product development that embodies the characteristics of Seki-style Japanese swords: unbreakable, unbendable, and sharp. This Kiritsuke-style knife is inspired by Japanese swords, a traditional Japanese style, and is meticulously crafted for sharpness.

[Special Kiritsuke Knife]: Versatile for a Wide Range of Uses
The special Kiritsuke-style knife ZUIUN is a hybrid of a Usuba and Yanagiba knife. Unlike traditional single-bevel knives, this Kiritsuke knife is double-beveled, allowing it to cut straight into ingredients. It is suitable for a wide variety of foods, including meat, vegetables, and sashimi. The pointed tip, shaped like a sword, also makes it ideal for decorative cuts and other culinary techniques that utilize the tip of the knife.

[Blade Material]: Damascus Steel Made from Premium Tool Steel SPG2
The blade, featuring a beautiful pattern, is made of 63-layer Damascus steel with premium tool steel SPG2 (Super Gold 2) as the core material. SPG2 (also known as Powdered Stainless High-Speed Steel) is highly popular both domestically and internationally and is difficult to obtain. It excels in all four essential qualities of cutlery: high hardness, high toughness, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance.

[Sharpness]: Hagoromo-ba (Clam-Shell Blade) Shape of Japanese Swords
The superior tool steel is crafted into a Hagoromo-ba (clam-shell blade) shape, characteristic of Japanese swords. This ensures exceptional sharpness and its longevity. It is also easy to resharpen.

[Heat Treatment]: Sub-Zero Treatment
A special treatment involving cooling to below -70°C after quenching imparts high hardness and toughness, achieving the unbreakable, unbendable, and sharp qualities.

[Handle Material]: Design Pursuing Ease of Grip and a Japanese Aesthetic
The handle is made of 7-sided laminated reinforced wood, designed for a comfortable grip and a Japanese aesthetic. Decorative elements are incorporated in a visible position when held, creating a luxurious and stylish design.

[Occasion]: Perfect as a Gift
The knife comes in an elegant paulownia wood box. ZUIUN, meaning auspicious clouds appearing as a sign of good fortune in Buddhism, is a fitting name for a 100th-anniversary model knife and makes it an ideal gift.
