Description
Ajikiri knife, blade length 10.0cm, 70g. The spine is approximately 2.9mm thick near the heel. It is engraved with 藤五郎作 (Togoro Saku), which is a former brand of Fujitora Co., Ltd. in Tsubame City, Niigata. It is made of soft iron and steel layered together. As shown in the last photo, there is a visible line approximately 5mm from the cutting edge, and this 5mm section is the steel. If you sharpen past this line, it will lose its sharpness, but it seems usable for quite some time. Rust marks have been mostly removed, but upon close inspection, faint marks and small scratches remain, so please check the photos carefully. The handle has been replaced with a new one and appears to be usable for a considerable time. It has been thoroughly sharpened, honed, and polished.
