Edo-Tokyo Museum Unused Pen Tray Urushi Paper New Lacquer Coating Paper Mold Embossing Brown Tones With Box
This item was purchased at the Edo-Tokyo Museum the other day. It utilizes the traditional urushi lacquer technique used for lacquerware, applied to paper products through a process of pressing. By carefully layering a less allergenic lacquer called shin-urushi onto the paper one sheet at a time, beautiful patterns are created, resulting in durable paper that is also water-resistant. The back also features a beautiful pattern. I bought extra as souvenirs, so please consider using them. The color is brown. 9 x 20.5 x 2 cm.
