Reader's Digest Vintage World Globe
This is a World Globe that was sold by Reader's Digest.
This globe was manufactured by Replogle Globes, a famous American globe maker, and was sold in Japan by Reader's Digest Japan.
It is estimated to be from the late 1960s to the 1970s (around the Showa 40s-50s).
A characteristic feature is the presence of old country names on the map, such as the Soviet Union, East Germany, and Burma.
This is a World Ocean type with a blue ocean area, and it is a model with a three-dimensional finish where the surface is slightly raised according to the terrain.
The diameter of the sphere is approximately 30cm, the height is approximately 40cm, and the width is approximately 35cm.
Old globes not only have an antique charm as interior decor but are also valuable resources for understanding the world situation at the time.
Rust is visible on the metal parts. There are several scratches and peeling on the map. Some parts have been repainted.
All moving parts are in good working order.
