Shapton Kuromaku whetstones are highly praised by professional chefs and passionate home cooks alike.
The orange #1000 is for medium sharpening.
Use it when the blade is not in such bad condition that it requires coarse sharpening, but has light rust, minor chips, or needs some polishing.
The green #2000 is a versatile whetstone that can be used for both medium sharpening and finishing.
It is highly recommended for those purchasing their first whetstone for knife sharpening.
