Thin-bladed knife, White paper steel (170mm), Made by Yoshitoyo
Thin-bladed knife made of high-carbon steel.
Professionally sharpened by a whetstone craftsman.
This thin-bladed knife is presumed to have been used in my family home shortly after World War II.
It is believed to have been commissioned from a sword smith in Sakai, Osaka, under a brand from Kyoto Daimaru Department Store.
As shown in the photos, there are signs of use and dirt, but it is sturdily constructed.
- Blade Material: High-carbon steel (Shirogami)
- Blade Shape: Usuba (thin blade)
- Handle Material: Wood
- Handle Design: Carved
