Launched in 2002, the
WORLD MUJI PROJECT
... an initiative themed around exploring new possibilities that arise when MUJI is placed within the ideas and cultures of people around the world who resonate with MUJI's philosophy.
This is one of the first collections from this project, featuring the master Enzo Mari.

Mari dedicated his life to pursuing
an egalitarian and standard beauty
that accompanies everyone's life, not just the privileged. His philosophy deeply resonated with MUJI's guiding principle of
unmarked, essential richness.
This principle was born as an antithesis to the consumer society of the bubble era, and they shared a long friendship.

This is one of three types of plywood chairs brimming with Mari's design essence,
combining materials that evoke the 00s, such as
lame-painted steel and translucent PP.

Among the three types, this is the most minimalist
and has a subtle impact,
but its confident understatedness
perfectly balances Mari's and MUJI's styles.

This is an extremely rare item,
produced in small quantities in Japan,
and is in relatively good condition.
