This time, I would like to introduce a wooden bench that I handmade.
I thought it would be convenient to have a small storage shelf at the bottom (which also functions as a fixture), so I attached one. (The storage shelf at the bottom is made of cypress.)

The top board is 28mm thick (surfaced with a planer), making it thick, sturdy, and durable for long-term use.
(To reduce shipping costs, we have adopted a disassembled design.) Assembly requires a 13mm wrench. Bolts are M8 x 8 locations (includes bolts, nuts, and flat washers).
The hardware alone cost about 1000 yen!
The varnish used is an oil-based urethane clear varnish for floors, applied in 3 or more coats (on separate days).
As it will likely be exposed to sunlight and rain outdoors, I applied an oil-based varnish with excellent weather and corrosion resistance. (However, regular maintenance is still necessary.)
I believe the resulting gloss and shine are beautiful. The coating is hard and should be long-lasting.
It darkens slightly over time, which I personally find beautiful.
This is a handmade item, and it does have knots. I have done my best to plane the wood, round the edges (bullnose), and sand it (100 and 400 grit). All wood will naturally age and may develop gaps over time. If you are looking for perfection or are particularly sensitive, please refrain from purchasing.
I would be happy if you could carefully examine the photos and assess the cost performance (value for money) in relation to the materials and effort involved.
