This slicer, which Yoko Arimoto has been using for many years, is an essential tool for her beautiful and stylish cooking.

It grips securely onto bowls and trays, providing excellent stability and allowing for smooth work even when slicing large quantities.

It features 11 adjustable thickness settings in 0.3mm increments. At the thinnest setting, dial 1, vegetables can be sliced so thinly they are almost transparent.

It can slice vegetables as thinly as possible, and the sharpness is superb. I use it regularly, but it's an indispensable item especially for making *namasu* (pickled vegetables) for New Year's and pickled young ginger in vinegar during the summer. Slice potatoes thinly with this, fry them until crispy in an iron deep-frying pan, and lift them out with the frying basket to make homemade potato chips. They have a natural flavor and are delicious, a great snack on their own.

This item is new and unused, but there are fine lines resembling scratches on the back (see photo 6). They were present when I received it. They don't feel like scratches that occurred during storage, but rather seem to be from the manufacturing process, though I cannot be certain. I'm unsure if they are considered initial scratches...? They are on the back, so please consider this if you don't mind! The front is clean!
