Five-bead Abacus, Banshu Abacus, Made by Maekawa Soroban Kogyosho, Showa Retro, Antique
Thank you for looking.
This is a rare Godama Soroban (five-bead abacus) manufactured and used from the early to mid-Showa period.
It is a traditional style with one bead on the beam and five beads below, a valuable item from before the current four-bead abacus became widespread.
[Features]
Manufacturer: Comes with a Maekawa Soroban Kogyosho label, a prestigious name in Banshu abacuses.
Design: The beam is marked with units such as Sen (thousand) and Hyaku (hundred) in red letters, reflecting the meticulous craftsmanship of the time.
Condition: Shows signs of age (vintage feel) but the beads move smoothly. The original green manufacturing label is also beautifully preserved.
[Size]
Width: Approx. 29.0 cm
Height: Approx. 11.0 cm
Depth: Approx. 3.5 cm
[Uses]
Recommended for practical use, as well as for Showa retro interior decor, antique tool collections, shop displays, and as an educational toy for children.
There is writing on the back.
As this is an old item, we are looking for buyers who understand antique goods.
