Released in May 1984 by SHARP, the Solocal EL-429 is a Showa retro product that integrates an abacus and a calculator.
At the time, while calculators were rapidly spreading, the abacus had educational value for training mental calculation skills and a unique sense of calculation by grasping numbers with fingertips, and it remained popular in Japan.
It was from this background that this abacus calculator was born.
