I've also given a title to this sashiko-woven piece.

I chose this title because the blue fabric stood out against the white and muted blue tones.

This is made from kimono fabric.

I hope you will find various ways to use it, such as a table runner or on a shelf in your entryway.

Please enjoy the simple texture of sashiko weaving.

■■■(Background of Creation)■■■

This product is in collaboration with a Type B employment support facility that newly started this month (February 2026).

This facility is located in the city where I live, and the number of people attending is not yet large.

Those who are already attending, as well as those who came for a visit, have been involved in part of the process of creating this sashiko-woven mat.

For this product, they were responsible for dismantling kimonos with fine patterns and processing them into long, narrow strips.

In return for their assistance with part of the work, I make a monthly payment to the facility, although I cannot provide a large amount.

In addition to my assistance, they also undertake work from other fields, and the payment from those sources, along with mine, becomes wages for the attendees.

It is deeply moving for me that a single piece of work is born from such collaboration.

Even while I work at home, the scenes of their work that I actually saw come to mind.

I intend to add the above background information to future collaborative works.

This initiative has just begun.

We aim to continue creating one-of-a-kind products as collaborations, not at a rapid pace, but steadily.
