The material is a polyester blend braid.
Narrow tape-like materials called braids, a few millimeters wide, are layered and sewn in a spiral pattern to create a round shape.
This is a hidden masterpiece that requires skilled craftsmanship to create a beautiful circular shape.
It is then molded and fixed with starch spray.
