Thank you for looking.
Okawakame (Basella alba) tubers
These can be used for green curtains, they bloom flowers, and the leaves are edible! The leaves have a sticky texture when cut, and are delicious when dressed with soy sauce or added to miso soup. They are said to be highly nutritious, packed with essential minerals vital for maintaining health, such as magnesium, zinc, calcium, and vitamin A.
Planting is from late April to late June, and harvesting can be done until around October. While not ideal for very cold regions, they are strong against heat, pests, and diseases, making them very easy to grow.
These are being listed because many tubers (child plants) have grown from the parent plant. After the season ends, cut the vines and let them overwinter; they will sprout again in the spring. It is said that they grow more robustly in their second year.
