Water Snowflake (Nymphoides indica) - 3 plantlets

This is a perennial aquatic plant that blooms from early summer to autumn (May-September). The flowers are 3-5 cm in size and are a vibrant yellow with many finely divided petals (Photos 1, 2, 3). They are ephemeral flowers that last for one day. This is a rare species, and the number of plants is decreasing nationwide, but it reproduces vigorously if the environment is suitable. It can also be cultivated in partial shade. Plant the seedlings in a pot with paddy soil or Akadama soil (small grain size) mixed with fertilizer (about 2-3 pellets of slow-release granular fertilizer). Submerge the pot in a water tank so that the leaves float on the water surface, with a water depth of 5-10 cm. In my case, it grows well in a 35 cm diameter, 20 cm deep plastic water lily pot. I believe that shallow planting (planting in a small pot and adjusting the depth by placing stones under the pot so that the water surface is about 5-10 cm above the pot) will result in flowering. I think flowering will be poor at a depth of 10 cm. It is cold-hardy, and the plant overwinters as is. Even if the leaves wither in winter, the plant is alive and will sprout again in spring, so please do not let it dry out to enjoy it next spring. Also, during the growing season, it actively extends runners from the mother plant, producing many daughter plants. In mid-May 2026, the mother plant began to bloom.
Photo 4 shows the leaves taken in April 2025, and Photos 5 and 6 are samples of the three seedlings being sent, taken on December 1, 2025, and April 19, 2026, respectively. As of April 19, they have grown this large. (The region where the plants are being grown in the photos is warm with almost no snow. Thin ice formed on the water tank three times by the end of January this year. Please consider this as a reference.) Thank you for your consideration.
