This is a traditional tool called a mino or katakuchi zaru, made of bamboo. It is primarily used in agricultural work such as sifting grains (removing husks and debris), harvesting and draining vegetables, and drying vegetables.
The large sieve has been used a few times for making dried daikon radishes.
The medium and small sieves are unused.
