Japanese Honey Bee Beeswax Set of 2 Sweet Aroma Japanese Honey Bee Beeswax Wax for Trapping and Attracting
I raise Japanese honeybees as a hobby in the midst of nature-rich mountains. This beeswax was refined in the fall of 2024.
Because the honey is extracted using a low-temperature, non-pressurized method, its sweet aroma remains strong even after refining.
Japanese honeybees have a highly developed sense of smell, so applying this to their waiting boxes can enhance their attraction.
When used in conjunction with Kinryohen (a type of orchid used as a lure), the probability of natural colony establishment increases. Please give it a try.
It has been filtered and molded using a double boiler, so there are almost no impurities, but there is a slight possibility of tiny debris being mixed in.

[Uses]
To coat Japanese honeybee waiting boxes as a lure for swarm capture, for cosmetics such as hand cream and lip balm, for beeswax wraps, candles, etc.
[How to apply to waiting boxes as a lure]
If the hive has been thoroughly exposed to the sun and no longer smells of wood, simply apply it to the underside of the slatted base and the entrance of the hive (a sweet aroma will waft out!).
It is common to melt the beeswax by heating it with a burner and then applying it, but overheating will cause it to burn, which the bees dislike.
After much trial and error, I have found that simply rubbing it on works best. (This has led to stable natural colony establishment every year.)
If the new wood smell still remains, I apply it evenly to the inside of the stacked boxes, but it cannot be denied that the colony establishment rate is lower compared to applying it to the outside.
Swarming is most active from late March to early May each year, but due to high competition, it is not uncommon for natural colony establishment to occur during the second swarm in mid-June.
If you don't have a colony by May, don't give up. I recommend applying beeswax about once a week during this period.
[Precautions]
* The underside inevitably has unevenness due to cooling and solidifying.
* Please understand that there may be other small scratches or unevenness.
* Even if it breaks during shipping, there is no impact on quality.
