This is a wooden statue hand-carved in New Caledonia.
New Caledonia is an island nation east of Australia, known as paradise closest to heaven.
This hand-carved wooden statue is inspired by the rare bird, the Kagu, that inhabits the island.
The hut ornament with a conical roof is a hand-carved wooden statue modeled after the traditional house of the Kanak people, the indigenous people of New Caledonia, called Case.
This is a valuable item that is quite old and was displayed in a wealthy family's home for a long time. (I received it as a gift, but I cannot display it in my home, so I am selling it.)
Perfect for interior decoration or as a gift.
