Description
A Montecristi Panama hat made in the 1930s. Made in Montecristi, Ecuador, it is considered the highest quality Panama hat, and it takes several months to complete one. There is a crack in the front brim from the time of purchase, as shown in images 6 and 7. There are cracks in the leather part of the inside. If there were no cracks, it would be worth over 150,000 yen. If reproduced with modern technology, it would cost over 300,000 yen. When looking at the crown lining from the inside, the more rings there are when weaving the material, the finer the weave is said to be, and this one has 10 rings. For its age, it is in good condition except for the crack in the front brim. There is no problem with wearing it.
