The kabuto were made by layering fabric with a familiar check pattern and a calm green fabric (based on online searches, the color silver sage seemed closest).

Both fabrics are originally sturdy, so the kabuto maintain their shape well when worn.

The fabric on the back is finished by folding it in, rather than sewing it down.

The infant size was used only once for a short time for a commemorative photoshoot at home. The toddler size was made with leftover fabric and has not been used. Both were carefully stored with other hakama, etc.

My child wore the infant size around 3 months old. The toddler size has not been used, but it can still be worn by a 7-year-old. Unlike regular hats, a recommended feature is that they can be used for a long time depending on the age.

These were made with great care and time, but as they are handmade by an amateur, please only purchase if you understand any slight imperfections or hand-sewn details.
