This is a dough bowl with a vibrant red interior and a black lacquered exterior.

Versatile Japanese Tableware: Not only can it be used as a konebachi (dough bowl) for kneading soba or udon dough, but it can also be used as a bowl for chirashizushi (scattered sushi), a somen noodle serving bowl, or a large platter for parties.

It has a luxurious sheen and size.
It features traditional craftsmanship. I believe it is Kishu lacquerware.
It has been used only a few times since purchased several years ago and is in beautiful condition.
