Description
Purchased over a decade ago and kept in storage without use.
Although unused, it's a wooden product and was scratched from the beginning (lol).
The description stated it was made of zelkova natural wood, so I believe that's correct.
It was quite expensive.
It's not easy to move, and after being stored under a shelf for years, the part exposed to light has become whitish, and it seems to have been coated with some kind of varnish.
I removed the coating with a grinder and finished it with linseed oil. It looks like the images. There's a gouge on one side (images 10, 11, 12), I think the wood surface was dented.
It's not in direct sunlight, but it seems to have gotten a little rain during typhoons, as there are stains inside the mortar hole (image 5).
There are cracks even without use, but I think it's still perfectly usable. The pestle is not included.
The opening is slightly narrow and deep, designed so that mochi won't fly out when pounding.
It's also quite heavy, so I think two adults are needed for moving it. I injured my back lifting it with two people (lol).
I haven't weighed it, but I estimate it's around 50kg.
If you are interested, please check the images carefully and consider purchasing if you are satisfied.
Tano Meru Bin was outside the service area, and I don't know how to apply for Kizai Takkyubin, so it's **pickup only**.
Please comment before purchasing.
