JOHNBULL × LAULHERE × THE KYOTO BASSEN BASSEN Beret Rainbow ¥29,700- Unisex This collection is a collaboration between Johnbull, a denim brand with its own factory in Kojima, Kurashiki City, Okayama, and the traditional Yuzen dyeing techniques of Kyoto. The inspiration behind it is Kyo-Yuzen, one of Japan's three great Yuzen styles, which flourished and developed in Kyoto. Kyo-Yuzen is renowned worldwide for its luxurious and vibrant dyeing techniques. THE KYOTO BASSEN is a new project launched by JOHNBULL in 2023, where Kyoto artisans apply Yuzen dyeing techniques to denim. This collaboration with LAULHERE marks their first endeavor together. The base beret is the BRUCE model, inspired by military berets, featuring distinctive lace detailing at the back. Among LAULHERE's offerings, this model has a smaller diameter and is designed to be worn fitted to the forehead, with the brim exposed. We also recommend styling it by tilting the entire beret backward or to the side. While possessing a unique shape that sets it apart from conventional berets, it exudes a stylish impression. Laulhère is a long-established beret brand founded in 1840, the only one still existing in the Basque region of France. For over 180 years, 80% of their production process has been carried out by French artisans with special skills, creating high-quality French berets.
