This is a retractable ball holder from Gefu, a kitchen brand from the West German era.
By expanding the wires, you can adjust it to fit sizes from small bowls to large heat-resistant dishes. By suspending and supporting pots and bowls, it is a practical tool that can be used for serving at the dining table, keeping food warm, or supporting steamed dishes.
The combination of a minimalist chrome frame and black resin parts embodies the functional beauty characteristic of West Germany. While it is a kitchen tool, its industrial product-like aesthetic is also appealing.
