This is a finishing whetstone with an asagi (light blue-green) finish. Even without a nagura stone, as you sharpen, a slick slurry will form, making it a very easy-to-use whetstone. Epoxy has been applied to the front and back of the stone to secure it to the sharpening stand, so please handle with care.
