Product Description (from website)
You'll understand why Paulownia wood is the best once you use it. The greatest advantage of Paulownia wood is its lightness. The specific gravity of Paulownia wood is 0.28-0.30, making it the lightest among woods used for cutting boards, and ideal for daily cooking, even for women. Furthermore, Paulownia wood is rich in flexibility and elasticity, and can even recover from small scratches. For this reason, it provides an excellent feel when cutting with a knife and is gentle on the knife's blade, contributing to an extended lifespan for your knives. Paulownia wood also absorbs moisture poorly, and water does not penetrate from the surface of the board into the interior. This means it dries quickly; after washing, simply lean it upright for about 10 minutes, and it will be dry. Since moisture does not penetrate, it is less prone to the blackening that can occur with wooden cutting boards and is a material that is resistant to rot. The large round shape has ample depth, allowing you to gather chopped vegetables and meat and transfer them directly to pots or plates, thus making better use of your kitchen space.
