I am listing this item because I have switched all my primary sharpening stones to extra-thick ones and no longer have space on my shelves.
This is a combined whetstone, but it sharpens with a pleasant, crisp feeling similar to a suita (natural water stone). It's not quite Okudono (a type of high-quality natural stone), but it has a crispness in the middle range of Okudono, along with the texture of a combined whetstone. The hardness is about average. It's neither hard nor soft.
For this stone, you could start with water and a medium grit for a crisp sharpening, and then finish with more water to set the edge. Thank you for your consideration.
