This gauze half blanket is made by the long-established Kyoto bedding manufacturer, Romance Kosugi, founded in 1946, bringing together the craftsmanship of artisans from Mikawa (Aichi Prefecture), Wakayama, and Izumiotsu (Osaka Prefecture).
The fabric is Mikawa Fukure-Ori, woven by artisans in the traditional textile region of Mikawa, Aichi Prefecture, using a special technique.
Polyester threads with the property of shrinking when heated are woven in with cotton.
In Wakayama Prefecture, heat treatment artisans use their skilled techniques to create a textured surface that allows air to pass through the fabric.
The sewing is done in Izumiotsu, Osaka Prefecture.
It retains the softness of gauze that increases with use, while offering a smooth texture, a gentle fit to the body, and a pleasant volume.
It's also great for preventing chills from air conditioning.
The exquisite combination of an elegant hemp leaf pattern motif and refreshing colors creates a product that offers a sense of coolness even visually.
It is machine washable at home for easy care (use a laundry net).
