This gauze blanket is made by Romance Kosugi, a long-established bedding manufacturer founded in Kyoto in 1946, bringing together the craftsmanship of artisans from Mikawa (Aichi Prefecture), Wakayama, and Izumiotsu (Osaka Prefecture) in Japan.
The fabric is Mikawa Fukure-ori, woven by artisans in the traditional textile production area of Mikawa, Aichi Prefecture, using a special technique.
Special polyester threads, which shrink when heated, are woven together with cotton.
In Wakayama Prefecture, skilled heat treatment artisans have created a texture with a raised pattern that allows air to pass through the fabric.
The sewing is done in Izumiotsu, Osaka Prefecture.
It retains the softness of gauze that increases with use, while offering a smooth, dry touch, a gentle fit to the body, and a pleasant volume.
It's also great for preventing chills caused by air conditioning.
The exquisite combination of the elegant hemp leaf motif and refreshing colors creates a product that offers a sense of coolness visually as well.
It can be washed in a home washing machine for easy care (use a laundry net).
