Finishing Leather Strop

This leather strop is used in the final stage when sharpening knives, razors, blades, and cutting tools.

Size: Approximately 180mm x 90mm

As leather scraps are inevitably left over during the production of my works, I make and sell leather strops.

Uses Tochigi Leather's suede leather.
It is famous for being a very strong leather with dense fibers.
Furthermore, I carefully select and use only the parts with densely packed fibers, avoiding the belly area which has relatively loose fibers.
Compared to leather strops sold at home centers, these are made by bonding two pieces of considerably thicker suede leather, resulting in exceptional elasticity.
Due to its thickness and elasticity, it adheres precisely to the blade, removing microscopic burrs and resulting in a razor-sharp edge.
Blades sharpened with this strop will be extremely sharp, so please handle with extreme care.

This product does not come with polishing compound.
Please rub in your preferred compound, such as Aobou (blue compound) or Pikal, along with honing oil.
For reference:
Aobou particles are around #3000 - #4000.
Pikal particles are around #5000.
Note that Akabou (red compound) has coarse particles and is not suitable for finishing sharpening.
Shirobou (white compound) has varying grit sizes from #800 to #8000 depending on the product, so please research before use.
The recommended grit for sharpening is said to be #3000 - #5000.

If you choose Aobou or Pikal, I can pre-apply it for you.
Please specify in the comments whether you would like compound applied.

As this is a handmade product, it is not perfect.
Please refrain from purchasing if you are sensitive to minor imperfections.
