Care Mittens for Preventing Tube Removal and Self-Injury (Set of 2, Handmade)
When I started caring for my mother, who is at care level 5,
she repeatedly pulled out her medical tubes, so I used mittens to prevent this.
However, the commercially available mittens were all the type that felt like pressing your palm against a table tennis racket.
Moreover, the fabric was stiff, and the base of her fingers hit the mitten, causing redness.
The lock to prevent removal was also heavy, and she disliked it.
So, I decided to make them myself.
I shaped them into a ball using darts. The idea is to gently cover from the wrist to the fingertips.
While wearing these, you can play rock-paper-scissors.
The material is 100% cotton. (It can be washed at home in a net.)
This fabric is thin double gauze.
The size is approximately 36cm from the tip to the end of the wrist, and about 25.5cm in width.
This product does not guarantee complete prevention of medical tube removal.
