This is a high-quality, richly textured drawstring bag made from Kurume Kasuri, a traditional textile from the Chikugo region in southern Fukuoka Prefecture with a long history of approximately 200 years, designated as an Important Intangible Cultural Property.
The fabric is carefully woven through 30 manual processes, including kukuru (tying), someru (dyeing, indigo dyeing), and oru (weaving). The charm lies in the beautiful, natural blurred patterns unique to hand-weaving and the deep, rustic, and warm flavor of indigo.
It's small and fits easily into bags, making it a versatile and convenient size for use as a cosmetic pouch, a case for gadgets like earphones and chargers, or for organizing small items such as supplements and keys.
An official mini-leaflet from Okamoto Shoten, explaining Kurume Kasuri and its production process, will also be included.
