This is a convenient dust mite catcher mat, patented in Japan and the USA, that catches dust mites simply by placing it down.
Indoor dust mites (such as house dust mites, mold mites, and itchy mites) are attracted to the attractant inside the mat. They then adhere to the moisture-absorbing ceramic through their mouths, spiracles (breathing pores), or skin, and are dehydrated and dried within the mat (it is not effective against outdoor dust mites).
Since it does not use any harmful substances and captures live dust mites by attracting them to the mat, there is no worry about the scattering of dead dust mites or their droppings, which are causes of atopy, allergies, and asthma.
