● Patchwork Indigo Dye Kasuri Vest ● Size S ?? Sashiko ?? Handmade Kimono Remake

This vest is crafted from indigo-dyed kasuri (old fabric).
The front is meticulously pieced together, with each small fragment carefully sewn and finished with sashiko stitching. The back features a lovely Kurume kasuri (old fabric) with a sparrow pattern.

The indigo-dyed kasuri old fabric possesses a depth and beauty that cannot be found in modern new materials.

This piece is the work of my mother, who has long specialized in custom-made kimono remakes.

She mentioned that the intricate patchwork of the hexagonal pattern on the front, in particular, was very time-consuming. (Therefore, there won't be a second one ^^;)
By carefully combining small pieces while matching the patterns and layering sashiko stitching, this vest achieves a depth and warmth that cannot be found in mass-produced items.
It is a truly unique masterpiece, meticulously crafted with time and handwork.

Various kasuri patterns emerge within the deep indigo color, creating a somewhat warm expression.
The sashiko stitching on the front adds a touch of elegance amidst the calmness.

The lining is made of cotton with an orange checkered pattern.
You can enjoy a glimpse of bright color even when taking it off.

Due to the thickness and stiffness of the overlapping patchwork sections, the buttonholes could not be finished by machine and have been reinforced by hand sewing.
Therefore, there are visible hand-sewn marks on the reverse side. Please purchase only if you understand and appreciate the handmade aesthetic.
