【Ringsa】Commemorative Ringsa for the 750th Anniversary Memorial Service of Saint Shinran, Jodo Shinshu, Donated Uki-mon Brocade, Vintage Buddhist Altar Fittings

This is a half-kesa, believed to have been used in the memorial service for the 750th anniversary of the passing of Saint Shinran. It is also called a Montoshiki-sho. Its usage is uncertain.

There are no visible stains, but please forgive any oversights.

Also, as it was stored in a drawer with incense sticks, there is a scent of incense. If you are concerned about this, please refrain from purchasing.

◆ Uki-ori (Floating Weave) ◆
This is a small patterned weave created using threads of different colors for the warp and weft. The threads of the patterned areas are raised from the fabric, giving the appearance of embroidery.

Due to its beautiful patterns, Uki-ori has been used for the attire of the upper class since the Tenpyo era (729-749).
