This is an omote (surface) made of natural igusa (rush grass) for tatami mats.
How about using it to create a flower stand or decorative base?
You might also be able to use the fringed part to make mini kadomatsu (New Year's pine decorations).
Please note that the fringe is fragile and can break easily.

Tatami omote is wider than the tatami mat itself, approximately 100cm wide, with fringe on both sides. One edge will fray.
Normally, the fringe is cut off, and the width is divided into three parts for sale.

The quality of the material varies depending on the warp and weft threads used. Also, as it is a natural material, the texture, quality, color, and even thickness can differ depending on the production area and year.
This item is a remnant from tatami production, so the listed sizes may vary slightly.

Due to the structure of tatami omote, the edges will fray, so please purchase a size larger than you need.
The color may change slightly over time.

Although unused, this item has been stored in a warehouse. As it is a natural material, there may be weaving imperfections.
Please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned about these details.

To offer it at a low price, it is folded, which may cause creases.
If this is a concern, you can lightly mist it with water and smooth out the wrinkles. They will naturally become less noticeable.
